Pune, June 10, 2020: Deeply troubled by the plight of weary migrants, Amitabh Bachchan decided to help these migrants in these tough times. The Bollywood veteran arranged for special charter flights to fly over 1000 migrants stranded in Maharashtra to their respective villages in Uttar Pradesh. Over six flights with 180 migrants each, will leave on 10th and 11th June for Gorakhpur and Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh.

The migrants were initially supposed to travel by train but due to some technical issue, the plan was cancelled. On hearing this, Amitabh Bachchan didn’t want them to lose hope, so he decided to arrange charter flights to fly them home.

The Managing Director of Amitabh Bachchan Corp Ltd., Rajesh Yadav said, “Bachchan sahib asked me to arrange chartered flights for migrants as he did not want them to lose hope after being told they would be sent home.”

Previously, the actor had also sponsored 10 buses for migrants. Over 225 migrants were boarded to be sent to Prayagraj, Lucknow, Bhadohi and Gorakhpur in UP. The migrants were overjoyed on hearing this and were thankful for the help.
