AMP Awards 100 Influential Educators across the country

Mumbai, September 4, 2020: On the eve of Teachers Day, Association of Muslim Professionals, a not-for-profit organisation, working in the areas of education and employment assistance has announced the recipients of its prestigious ‘AMP National Award For Excellence In Education’ for the year 2020.  

“In today’s modern world, it is all the more necessary that teachers instil the importance of human values of love, respect and tolerance in students for a peaceful world”, said AMP president Aamir Edresy.

Few Name of the Awardees are as below;

  • Retired Lt. Gen. Zameer Uddin Shah (Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh) – Former Vice-Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University
  • Mr. Abdul Waheed Khan (Ontario, Canada) – Former President & CEO at IGNOU

AMP has instituted these awards to highlight the contribution of teachers in Nation Building.

5th September is celebrated as Teachers’ Day and the contribution and success of teachers and educationists are celebrated across India this day. National Awards by AMP were first announced in September 2017 and 295 Influential Educators across the country have been awarded the Excellence in Education Award in last 3 years.

Nominations were invited from across the country and people were encouraged to nominate Teachers, Principals and Sr. Academicians from different Institutions, who have served the Society and the Community with distinction.

The Esteem Jury evaluated and selected 100 such top achiever Academicians and they were declared the recipients of these awards.

Aamir Edresy, president, AMP, said, “I extend my warm greetings and felicitations to all the Academicians who were nominated, particularly those who have been selected and appreciated by AMP in recognition of their outstanding services in the field of Education and invaluable Contribution to the Society at large.” 

While giving his message to teachers, he said, “In today’s modern world, it is all the more necessary that our children understand the human values of love, respect and tolerance, which are essential for a peaceful world. It is, therefore, vital that teachers emphasize the importance of these values. Students should be made to think in terms of the welfare of humankind and progress of the nation”.

Soheb Selia, General Secretary of AMP said, “the importance of teachers can be understood by the quote of Prophet Muhammad (SAW/PBUH) where he said that “I have been sent only as a teacher to you”. The Prophet PBUH reached the hearts and minds of people through his many educational activities.

Razak Shaikh, Head-AMP Projects, speaking about the future plans of AMP, emphasised on the need of connecting these teachers in a formal network on the national level so that they can share their experiences and learn from each other.

Dr Zahida Khan, Head-NCT, said, “Partnerships and Collaborations are the mantra for the future. In order to execute the AMP Projects, we have decided to partner with Teacher Associations, Colleges, Schools and other Educational Institutions across India.”
