AMP Scholarship Fund Invites Applications for Needy Muslim Students

Mumbai, 9th July 2023: The Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP) has announced the opening of applications for its Higher Scholarship Fund for the Year 2023, aiming to provide financial assistance to genuinely needy Muslim students pursuing higher and technical education.

Since its inception in 2013, the AMP Scholarship Fund has been dedicated to supporting economically disadvantaged Muslim students. This year, over 300 meritorious and deserving students will be awarded a minimum scholarship of Rs. 10,000/- after a thorough verification process conducted by the AMP Team.

The eligibility criteria for the scholarship are as follows:

1. Open to students from economically poor families who are pursuing higher professional education.
2. Students must be eligible to receive Zakat as per Sharia guidelines.
3. Minimum educational qualification required is passing Class 12th or its equivalent from any recognized Board.
4. Preference will be given to students pursuing higher education in professional disciplines such as Medical, Law, Journalism, Engineering, etc., with special emphasis on prestigious institutions like IITs, IIMs, IISC, GLC, and others recognized by UGC/AICTE.
5. Technical and vocational courses at the graduation level from Industrial Training Institutes/Industrial Training Centers affiliated with the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) are also covered.
6. The scholarship amount will be disbursed through cheques or online payments directly to the respective institutions. Cash disbursement will not be entertained.

To apply for the scholarship, applicants are required to submit the following documents:

1. Passing certificates and mark sheets of Class 10th and 12th or equivalent.
2. Mark sheets of previous years for candidates already enrolled in a professional course.
3. Copy of photo identification and address proof (preferably Aadhar Card or PAN Card/Ration Card).
4. College fees structure.
5. College bank account details.

The application process is as follows:

1. Students in need can register and fill out the scholarship application on the IndiaZakat.com portal (www.indiazakat.com).
2. The applications will be promoted by IndiaZakat to its donors and through social media.
3. Needy students have the opportunity to receive additional funds through crowd-funding by raising their causes on the IndiaZakat platform, in addition to the AMP Scholarship Fund.
4. Background verification will be conducted by local AMP Chapters.
5. It is important to note that the approval of the cause on IndiaZakat.com does not guarantee the scholarship or funds from donors.
