Ankita falters in singles, wins doubles with Prarthana at Balaji Amines Solapur Open $25000 ITF Women’s Tennis Tournament

Solapur, December 17, 2022: Ankita Raina faltered in the singles semifinals but partnered Local girl Prarthana Thombare to win the doubles crown at the Balaji Amines Solapur Open $25000 Women’s Tennis Tournament organised by Solapur District Lawn Tennis Association (SDLTA) and MSLTA under the auspices of the ITF, AITA sponsored by Balaji Amines and played at the MSLTA School of Tennis at the Divisional Sports Complex , Solapur.

In the Singles Semifinals Finland’s third seeded Anastasia Kulikova Dashed the hopes of top-seeded Ankita Raina 5-7, 7-5, 6-3 In 2 hrs and 26mins. Kulikova will take on eighth seeded Indonesian Priska Madelyn Nugroho who also spent over 2 hours and 20 mins to stop Russian Daria Kudashova 1-6, 6-4, 7-5

In the Doubles Finals played in the afternoon topseeds Ankita Raina and Prarthana Thombare from Barshi in Solapur district took less than a hour to thrash second seeds Priska Madelyn Nugroho and Russian Ekaterina Yashina 6-1, 6-2
