Pune 7th August 2023: The extended routes of Pune Metro have been receiving a good response since its launch as a ‘record-break’ ridership was recorded on Sunday. According to metro officials, highest ever ridership was recorded in the Pune Metro history since its launch on Sunday. A total of 96,498 commuters used the service on Sunday.

Highest number of passengers used Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Metro Station among all other stations as the ridership recorded here was 13,393 for a day followed by 11,301 at Civil Court Shivajinagar, 9,928 at Vanaz, 9,872 at Ruby Hall Clinic. PCMC Metro Station continues to report a good response since the launch of Pune Metro’s extended route connecting Pimpri Chinchwad with Pune city since 8,019 commuters used the service from this station on Saturday and it was top performing for two consecutive days among all other stations.

Earlier on Saturday, a total of 57,652 commuters had used thePune Metro service. The officials have said that the 30% discount on fare announced for weekends by the Pune Metro has played an important role in the increased ridership for Saturday and Sunday as many commuters had come to enjoy a joyride.

It may be noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier on August 2 launched the extended routes of Pune Metro between Civil Court to Phugewadi and Garware College to Ruby Hall Clinic.
