Apple Set to Launch iPhone SE 4 in 2025 with Major Upgrades and New Features
New Delhi, 4th December 2024: Apple is reportedly preparing to launch its next affordable iPhone, the iPhone SE 4, in the first half of 2025. Following its usual pattern of releasing updated models every few years, the new iPhone SE will mark the fourth iteration of the series, which first debuted in 2016. The iPhone SE 2 was launched in 2020, followed by the third version in 2022. Now, Apple is set to introduce the iPhone SE 4 after a three-year gap.
The iPhone SE 4 is expected to adopt a design similar to that of the iPhone 14, departing from the previous models with a home button. The new version will also feature a larger display, moving from the 4.7-inch screen of its predecessor to a 6.1-inch OLED panel, bringing a more modern and immersive viewing experience. Reports suggest the phone could be launched in March 2025, with mass production potentially starting as early as this month.
In terms of performance, the iPhone SE 4 is expected to come equipped with Apple’s flagship processor, offering improved capabilities compared to the current iPhone SE 3, which uses the A13 Bionic chip from the iPhone 13. The new chip will enhance tasks such as photo editing and AI-driven features, including advanced Siri functionalities.
The larger size of the iPhone SE 4 will also accommodate a bigger battery, providing improved battery life compared to its predecessor. Additionally, the device is expected to feature an upgraded camera system, including a 48MP primary sensor similar to that found in the iPhone 15 and iPhone 16, significantly enhancing photography.
One of the most anticipated upgrades for the iPhone SE 4 is the inclusion of Face ID, replacing the Touch ID sensor previously housed in the home button. The device will also switch from the Lightning port to a USB-C port for charging, aligning with Apple’s broader shift toward USB-C across its devices. Furthermore, rumours suggest the introduction of an action button, similar to the one seen on the iPhone 16, further modernising the device’s design.
As Apple gears up for the release of the iPhone SE 4, it is expected to compete directly with affordable smartphones from Samsung and Google, offering flagship-level features at a more accessible price point. With these upgrades, the iPhone SE 4 promises to be a major step forward for Apple’s affordable smartphone lineup.
