Apple’s New iPhone 16e Goes On Sale Today

Mumbai, 28th February 2025: Apple iPhone 16e smartphone was recently launched by Apple. After being pre-booked for some time, the phone is now available for sale to customers. This is the latest model of the iPhone 16 series. It has a 6.1-inch OLED screen and an A18 processor. The phone also has support for Apple Intelligence features.

Now finally the sale of this smartphone starts today i.e. February 28. It is the newest model in the iPhone 16 series, which has a 6.1-inch OLED screen and A18 chip. The iPhone 16e also supports Apple Intelligence features, as was the case with the iPhone 15 Pro (launched in 2023) and the iPhone 16 series introduced last year. It has a single 48-megapixel rear camera and a programmable action button.

The price of the iPhone 16e in India starts at Rs 59,900 for the base model with 128GB storage. The handset is also available in 256GB and 512GB storage options, priced at Rs 69,900 and Rs 89,900 respectively. The iPhone 16e has a 3nm A18 chip, which first arrived in the iPhone 16 in September 2024. It is paired with up to 512GB of storage. Apple doesn’t usually reveal the details of RAM, but given the support for Apple Intelligence features, it is estimated to have 8GB of RAM. It
has a single 48-megapixel rear camera, with optical image stabilization (OIS).

There is a 12-megapixel True Depth camera on the front, for selfies and video calls. It has the necessary sensors for Face ID. The Touch ID home button of the third-generation iPhone SE has been removed. The iPhone 16e has stereo speakers and offers 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and GPS connectivity. In select regions, it also supports the Emergency SOS Via Satellite feature. Unlike its predecessors, it has a USB Type-C port, which supports 18W wired
charging and 7.5W wireless charging. The handset is dust and water-resistant with an IP68 rating. It measures 146.7mm x 71.5mm x 7.8mm and weighs 167 grams. The new iPhone 16e is a dual-SIM (Nano + e-SIM) handset on iOS 18. It has a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR (1,170×2,532 pixels) OLED screen with a 60Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 800 nits. Apple’s Ceramic Shield material has been used in the display, which increases durability.

Apple has discontinued some old handsets in India to accommodate the new iPhone 16e. The third-generation iPhone SE has been phased out for the new model. Because the iPhone 16e offers several upgrades to a three-year-old phone. It includes an A18 chip with support for Apple Intelligence and a USB Type-C port for charging. Soon after the launch of the iPhone 16e, the old iPhone SE, iPhone 14, and iPhone 14 Plus models disappeared from Apple’s official website. These models are still available for purchase through third-party retailers such as Flipkart and Amazon or refurbished stores in India, but the stock is to disappear.
