Bird flu is a type of influenza. Influenza is an H5N1 virus. It started with water fountains, but it began to infect the poultry industry very quickly. Domestic poultry can be infected by it. If it infects a bird, they are more likely to die quickly, but these birds continue to spread the virus for more than 10 days. Significantly, it
does not spread from person to person. There have been no cases of human-to-human transmission, so there has not been a pandemic yet, but the virus can spread from birds to humans.

There have been reports of outbreaks of bird flu infection i.e. avian influenza in ten states of the country. After Delhi and Maharashtra, bird flu was also confirmed in Uttarakhand on Monday. New Delhi: Given the rising number of bird flu cases, the Centre has asked states not to close poultry markets or restrict the sale of poultry as there have been no scientific reports of transmission of bird flu to humans.

People who are exposed to poultry are more likely to get the flu. However, no such case has been found so far, in which bird flu has been detected that bird flu spreads from human to human. Signs and symptoms of bird flu can begin to appear as early as two to seven days after infection, depending on the type of flu. In most cases, the symptoms are similar to those of conventional influenza, including cough, fever, sore throat, muscle aches, headaches, and shortness of
breath. If you have a fever, cough, and body ache and have recently been to any part of the world where birds have been found dead due to bird flu, get your doctor checked immediately.
