Army personnel asked to delete 89 apps including Facebook from their smartphones

Pune, July 9, 2020: Recently the Government of India banned 59 apps with Chinese origin due to the threat of security breach amidst the Indo-China standoff. Now, a new ban on 89 apps is issued by the Indian army.
The Army has asked the soldiers to uninstall these 89 apps from their smartphones. The newly issued ban is not only limited to Chinese apps, but it also includes other apps like Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and Tinder. The ban on these apps was issued to the risk of leakage of data and the threat of cybersecurity to the nation.
