Mumbai, October 3, 2019: Aaditya Thackeray, son of Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray, and grandson of Bal Thackeray, on Thursday, declared his assets while filing his nomination paper for contesting from Worli seat in the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections.

Aaditya, who is currently the president of Yuva Sena, a youth wing of Shiv Sena, has total assets worth Rs 11.38 crores out of which Rs 10.36 crores are in banks, while he owns two stores and few acres land in Karjat near Panvel.

Aaditya Thackeray is the first person from the Thackeray family to take part in electoral politics. He filed his nomination from Worli seat in Mumbai on Thursday. He has given details of his property in the election affidavit given during the nomination. His father and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray was also present at the time of filing the form.

Not just Worli, I will work for the whole of Maharashtra – Aaditya

Before filing his nomination, Aaditya Thackeray did a roadshow. After that, he said, “I will work not only for Worli but for the whole of Maharashtra. I am confident of victory because the blessings of you all are with me.”

At the same time, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray thanked the people for supporting his son. “It is the tradition of our family to serve the people. The new generation has come up with new thinking and I thank the people for their support. I promise that Aaditya will be present whenever the public calls,” Uddhav Thackeray declared.

Fadnavis greets on phone
Earlier, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis congratulated Aaditya on phone. On his way to filing a nomination paper, Aaditya said that he wants to serve the country with good work.

On the occasion, senior Shiv Sena leader Arvind Sawant said that he was happy that the family with whom he is associated for 35 years and which has not asked for anything till date, is going to contest election for the first time. Sawant said that he was 100 per cent sure Aaditya Thackeray will be the chief minister of Maharashtra.
