Pimpri-Chinchwad, November 7, 2020: “The citizens of the city were not charged by the traffic police for small mistakes before, whereas from a few days there have been strict actions for violating even small rules. The citizens are becoming aggressive. Therefore, the incidents where police personnel are harmed are on a rise”, said Police Commissioner Krishna Prakash. He also warned citizens if rules will be broken then strict action will be taken.

In Pimpri-Chinchwad, in an incident, a rule violator had grabbed a traffic Policeman by the collar. Following it, another incident took place where traffic police tried to stop a car driver for not wearing a mask, instead of stopping the car, the driver drove fast in which traffic policeman got hooked on the bonnet of a car for one kilometre. The action has been taken against the one involved in this incident.

The city top cop said, “The citizens did not have the habit of getting charged for small mistakes. This is the reason they are becoming aggressive now. The accused have been arrested for the incidents which took place in Sangavi and Chinchwad.”

He also appealed to the parents of minors to not allow them to drive and the other drivers should not commit any offences or else they will be punished.
