Aundh D-Mart Bridge To Close For Two Months; Check Closure Date

Pune/Pimpri Chinchwad: The Aundh-Sangvi Bridge, near Dmart, will remain closed from Saturday, October 31, 2020, for two months till January 6, 2021 , informed Traffic Police Inspector Prakash Mhasalkar of the Chaturshringi Division.

The Pune municipal corporation (PMC) and the Pimpri Chinchwad municipal corporation (PCMC) have jointly decided to construct a bridge parallel to the existing bridge.

People traveling towards Sangvi, Wakad from Aundh can take any routes given below:

Bhale Chowk-Parihar Chowk-Rishi Malhotra Chowk-Rajiv Gandhi bridge
Bhale Chowk- Nagras Road – Ambedkar Setu Marg

“People commuting towards Baner can take the bridge near Pimple Nilakh Jupiter Hospital. While the people who wish to travel to Aundh, will have to take the Rajiv Gandhi Bridge and then take a turn at Bremen Chowk”, informed Police Inspector Umesh Tavaskar of Sangvi traffic division.

The decision to halt the traffic was taken on October 19. However, due to Navratri and Dussehra festivities, the bridge was still operable. “We will be closing the bridge from 11 am onwards on Saturday, billboards indicating diversions will also be put so that there is no traffic congestion”, added Mhasalkar.
