Auto Cluster Hospital: 4th Doctor Arrested In Connection With Ventilator Bed Sale For Rs 1 Lakh, Senior Officers Under Scanner Now

Pimpri, 6th May 2021: The officials from Pimpri police station have arrested the fourth doctor in connection with the sale of a ventilator bed at PCMC’s Auto Cluster COVID Hospital. Some senior officials are also under scanner now, police said.

The arrested person has been identified as Dr Jyotsana Dandge. Earlier, police had arrested Dr Praveen Jadhav who was a consultant with Auto Cluster hospital and Dr Shashank Rale and Dr Sachin Kasbe of Padmaja Hospital, Walhekarwadi. Police have seized Rs 3.1 lakh from the accused doctors.

According to DCP Manchak Ippar, some senior officials are also under the scanner and more arrests are likely in the case.

As per the FIR, the accused had demanded and taken Rs one lakh from the relatives of a COVID patient from Chikhali, who was a PCMC school headmistress. She had later succumbed to the deadly virus following which her relatives informed the corporators who took up the issue with PCMC.

The civic body has given the Auto Cluster facility to Sparsh Healthcare for operating the COVID hospital there.
