Automobile News: 2024 Kia Sonet Facelift Unveiled: Booking Open, Engine Options, and Advanced Features Revealed”
Global, 14th December 2023: In a much-anticipated reveal, the covers were lifted off the 2024 Kia Sonet, signaling its imminent arrival next year. During the global unveiling event, Hardeep S Brar, Kia India’s Sales Head, shared that bookings would commence from December 20, inviting customers to secure their Sonet facelift using K-Codes, a process akin to the successful pre-booking system utilized during the launch of the Kia Seltos facelift.
The revamped 2024 Kia Sonet boasts a trio of engine choices, catering to diverse preferences: a 1.0-litre turbo petrol, a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The 1.0-litre powertrain impresses with its output of 118bhp and 172Nm of torque, while the naturally aspirated petrol engine delivers 82bhp and 115Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the diesel variant packs a punch with 114bhp and 250Nm of torque.
Enthusiasts can select from various gearbox options tailored to each engine: a 5-speed manual accompanies the 1.2-litre engine, while the 1.0-litre unit offers a choice between a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed DCT. Additionally, the diesel engine provides flexibility with options including manual, iMT, or automatic transmissions.
The upgraded Kia Sonet introduces a spectrum of cutting-edge features, showcasing 10 segment-first innovations, notably including Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) featuring 10 autonomous functions. Safety measures are enhanced with the inclusion of 6 airbags, complementing an expanded touchscreen infotainment system. The exterior design receives a fresh makeover, coupled with a dual-tone interior finish, elevating the Sonet’s appeal.
