Autorickshaw Driver Who Molested Girl Student On Pune University Campus Arrested From Jejuri
Pune, 18th March 2023: An autorickshaw driver who molested a college girl on the premises of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) was arrested by Pune police in the Jejuri area.
The arrested rickshaw driver has been identified as Sachin Jagtap (39), a resident of Kondhawe-Dhwade, Uttamnagar. The girl has filed a complaint at the Chaturshringi police station.
The complainant girl, who hails from another state, is studying in a college in the Kothrud area. She had some work at Pune university. She reached the university premises in an autorickshaw from the Kothrud area on Thursday (16th March).
It started raining around 4 pm. The driver tried to sexually assault the girl who was waiting in the autorickshaw on the university premises. She resisted the rickshaw driver and got out of the rickshaw. The driver threatened the young woman and took her mobile number. The frightened girl later lodged a complaint with the police.
After that, the search for the autorickshaw driver was started by the Chaturshringi police. The investigation team received the information that the driver Jagtap was in the Jejuri area. A police team then arrested him.
