Awards for Start-ups with innovative ideas

Pune, November 23:- The top 3 innovative ideas presented by Pune based start-up companies were awarded during the recently held, Pune Connect 2016. This was the 6thedition of Pune Connect organized by the Software Exporters Association of Pune (SEAP). Started by SEAP in 2011 Pune Connect is a forum to nurture the start-ups culture and to create necessary eco-system for the start-up companies in Pune.

Hon. Minister of State Law and Justice & Electronic and IT (Govt. of India) P P Chowdhary and Dr. Omkar Rai, Director General, STPI were the chief guests for this event. S Ramprasad, President, SEAP and EC Member, Sameer Soman were also present on this occasion.

Akshay Mehrotra, Chief Executive Officer, Social Worth Technologies Pvt. Ltd., is the winner of Pune Connect 2016. He received a trophy at the hands of P P Chowdhary and a cheque of Rs. 50,000/- from Sunil Peswani, Managing Director of Pesh Group. Social Worth has developed a product titled, ‘EarlySalary.com’, which offers cash credit to the customer’s bank account instantly with a free credit limit approval and same day cash transfer facilities.

Hardik Gandhi, Founder, Zestl was awarded with the first Runner up trophy. With ‘TwigMe’, an app developed by Zestl the users can find products hosted on the TwigMe engagement platform and can interact with a growing list of local businessman, service providers, event organisers. With a single app download, the users can login the app and they are saved from the hassle of having to download individual apps for multiple businesses and securing their information.

Vijender Yadav, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, Propalms Technologies Pvt. Ltd. was awarded with the second Runner up trophy for their product, Accops. It is a solution comprising of software and hardware support which provides integrated, cost effective, end to end virtual computing solutions. It’s a solution or replacement of PC based computing.

Kapil Khangaonkar, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Clodura was awarded with the ‘Most Promising Start-up’ trophy whereas, Tejas Kshatriya, Founder, eAdicct was awarded with the ‘Popular Choice’ trophy for the product, ‘Smart Wheel’.

Addressing the start-ups, P P Chowdhary said, “Digital innovations is the need of hour. We are working hard towards our vision of seeing the country emerging as the leader in innovations.”  He also mentioned that compare to countries like China and America, the investment expense per hour on Research & Development is very less in India. For R&D, the companies in India must increase their investment ratio, which will profit them in the coming days. “Within 3 years we can expect Wi-Fi connect villages in our country. It’s time to prepare for cyber security as it is one of the biggest threat  facing by the world. Government and institution needs to work for cyber protection”, he added.

PuneConnect is a forum designed for Pune startups to showcase their products and services to the potential consumers in the city. It is held in partnership with NASSCOM-Pune, TiE-Pune, PuneTech, Ispirit, POCC, SME Joinup, MCCIA, IACC, HIA and CIIE-Pune. The event this year attracted more than 200 applicants across areas ranging from mobility, analytics, IOT, education, social networks and e-commerce. There were around 40 shortlisted start-ups who showcased their products and services to the attendees. Top 5 shortlisted start-ups got a chance to present their company in front of the jury and audience, from which the final three start-ups were awarded at the event.
