Awareness camp under National Ayush Mission held in Rajouri

RAJOURI, FEBRUARY 27 –Awareness programmes were organized in the border village Basali and Doongi Block Manjakote under  the National AYUSH Mission.

 The awareness programmes was organized in collaboration with District AYUSH team led by Assistant District Medical Officer Rajouri Dr. Z.A. Shah and Indian Army. A team of experts headed by Dr. Rohit Gupta, Nodal Officer, National AYUSH Mission, Jammu delivered public awareness lectures on various health issues.

Dr. Rohit Gupta briefed public about AYUSH systems in health promotion and disease prevention. Public was also made aware about the various components of National AYUSH Mission. Dr. Gupta further informed that  the department has approved establishment of AYUSH Gram at Village Doongi. AYUSH Gram is a rural platform for providing AYUSH interventions and enable people to adopt healthy living practices for better health and disease free life.

PRI functionaries of the villages Basali and Panchayat Doongi, Doongi Brahmana and Sasalkote were also present on the ocassion and appreciated the efforts being made by Directorate General of Indian Systems of Medicine, J&K
Dr. Aftab Iqbal Mir expert in Medicinal Plants Sector highlighted importance of various medicinal plants available in the area and various opportunities for farming communities in Medicinal Plant Sector. IEC Material on Medicinal plants with their health benefits was also distributed among the public.

Dr. Arun Gupta, Expert in Yoga and Wellness delivered a lecture on Dincharya (Daily health regimen), Ritucharya (Seasonal Healthy Regimen), Yogcharya and sadvrit (Yogic regimen and moral regimen of healthy living) for health promotion. Major Manish Daggar and Captain (Dr.) Sandeep, Indian Army were also present in the program at Village Basali near Peer Badesar.

Later on, awareness program was followed by a free AYUSH   Medical aid camp at Village Basali wherein team of doctors and paramedics from District examined and treated 353 patients. A similar AYUSH camp was organized at village Doongi wherein 380 patients were treated by AYUSH team.
