Ban On Tourism In Pune? Maharashtra Governor Koshyari Visits Sinhagad Fort

Pune, 16th August 2021: Even though the Pune district administration has imposed Section 144 to ban tourism in the district, Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari visited the Sinhagad Fort on Monday. Earlier, the Pune rural police had fined hundreds of people for visiting the fort.

Koshyari is on a two-day visit to Pune. Today, he visited the Sinhagad Fort. The local women had made rangoli to welcome the governor.

Exactly one year after he trekked Shivneri fort in Junnar, Governor Koshyari trekked the fort Kondhana, popularly known as Sinhgad today.

During this visit, Governor Koshyari expressed his views about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, saying that he is the pride of this country.

“Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is not only the hero of India but is the hero of the world! He came to India in the form of a new incarnation. In a way, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj awakened a new consciousness in the country. He used his intellect, tactics and power to overthrow the Mughal Empire and establish the Hindavi Swarajya in India. Therefore, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj became not only a hero of India but of the whole world. Historians from all over the world have praised his strength,” the governor said.

“Around 50 years ago, I read so much about Tanaji Malusare, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, and Baji Prabhu Deshpande that even you may not have read. Because Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is the pride of our country,” the governor said while addressing the media.

“The children in our country should be taught about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Tanaji Malusare from early on. If that happens, then the children can also become like them,” he added.

The Governor visited the ancestral home of Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak and offered his respects at the memorial of Narvir Tanaji Malusare. He also paid his respects at the Samadhi of Rajaram Maharaj and interacted with people on the route.
