IMD Predicts Light To Heavy Rain In Pune Region, Issues Orange Alert; Warning For Heavy Rains In Other Districts Of Maharashtra Also
Pune, 16th August 2021: India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rain warning for several districts of Maharashtra. Many districts including Pune will receive heavy to very heavy rainfall in the next three days.
According to IMD, a low-pressure belt is forming over the Bay of Bengal, due to which favourable conditions for rains are developing over Maharashtra. The central Maharashtra, Marathwada and Vidarbha regions are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall in the next three days. IMD also issued a Yellow alert for these regions.
Moreover, there is a prediction of heavy rainfall in Pune till 18th August. IMD has issued an ‘Orange’ alert for the Pune district.
It is being said that this announcement from the IMD provides relief to the farmers who are waiting for rains in the state.
