Baner, 6th January 2026: With the Pune Municipal Corporation elections approaching, Baner in Ward No. 9 has emerged as a key focus area for the Bharatiya Janata Party’s campaign. BJP’s official candidates Rohini Sudhir Chimte, Ganesh Janoba Kalmkar, Mayuri Rahul Kokate and Lahu Gajanan Balwadkar have intensified their outreach by conducting a series of planned door-to-door interactions in prominent housing societies across the area.

The candidates have visited major residential complexes such as Supreme Estado, Sun Horizon, Estonia, Anjor Co-operative Housing Society, Park Express and Essencia Heights. Party leaders said the campaign has received a positive response, with residents engaging actively during the interactions.

Unlike routine courtesy visits, the candidates held direct discussions with citizens, listening to their concerns, expectations and suggestions. This approach, party sources said, has added momentum to the campaign and helped establish a stronger connect with voters.

During these interactions, the candidates outlined the BJP’s development-oriented agenda, addressing key civic issues including road conditions, water supply, traffic management, public safety, cleanliness and other urban amenities. They also presented the party’s roadmap for improving civic infrastructure and services in the area.

Residents, in turn, raised specific local demands and, at several locations, expressed willingness to participate actively in the electoral process and extend their support. The candidates assured citizens of transparent, time-bound and accountable governance to resolve local issues.

Political observers note that the sustained outreach in Baner is strengthening the BJP’s organisational presence and grassroots support in Ward No. 9. The increasing citizen participation, favourable feedback and an aggressive campaign strategy are being seen as factors that could influence the electoral dynamics in the area.

Overall, the visible consolidation of voters around the BJP’s election symbol and the intensified campaign activities suggest that the contest in Ward No. 9 may be heading towards a decisive phase in the coming days.
