Ambegaon Khurd, 9th March 2025: The Bharati Vidyapeeth Police have arrested a Bangladeshi national residing illegally in Pune. The accused, identified as Riazul Mamrul Mulla (25), was living in Ambegaon Khurd without valid documents. A case has been registered against him under Section 14 of the Foreigners Act, the Passport Act, and the Foreigners Order Act.

Acting on confidential information, the Bharati Vidyapeeth Police launched an operation and detained Mulla on Saturday. Following verification of his illegal stay, a case was registered against him late at night. The action was taken under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Sharad Jine, with Police Sub-Inspector Yuvraj Shinde leading the investigation.

Police are now probing how Mulla entered India, who assisted him, and how long he has been residing illegally. Given the possibility of more such intruders in Pune and surrounding areas, authorities have expanded the investigation.

With rising concerns over unauthorized stays, the police have decided to ramp up action against illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in the region. Further arrests are likely as the probe continues.
