Bank of Baroda’s Sun Run marathon brings together larger, stronger amalgamated entity
Mumbai, June 12, 2019: Bank of Baroda organized a 5-km marathon on June 8, 2019 (Saturday) at Bandra Kurla Complex for around 2,500 staff members to enhance togetherness and bonding among the employees of the amalgamated entity.
Every year, over 1000 running events are organized in India. While the health benefits of running a marathon are widely acknowledged, it can also be a great platform for staff engagement. The Sun Run was held alongside several staff engagement activities such as a Zumba session, Tug of War, Mini Volley Ball, Glass Pyramid, Penalty shootout and selfie-booth with props.
The Bank has organized various staff engagement activities in the past like musical concerts, sports day, human chain, etc wherein employees from the corporate office and Zone assemble and engage in various fun filled activities.
Bank of Baroda’s brand endorser and world’s highest ranked men’s badminton player, Kidambi Srikanth, graced the event and following the success of The Sun Run, Bank of Baroda plans to roll out such events in a few other cities.
Mr PS Jayakumar, Bank of Baroda, MD & CEO, said, “This Marathon highlights the importance of staying fit as well the strength in numbers with the coming together of the three banks, Bank of Baroda, Vijaya Bank and Dena Bank and the formation of a formidable institution. While we thank our insurance partners for their support, I would like to turn this to an annual event that celebrates the coming together of three large institutions.”
The amalgamation of Bank of Baroda, Vijaya Bank and Dena Bank came into effect on April 1, 2019.
