Banyan Tree Branch Falls on Cars in Pune’s Kothrud, Road Cleared Quickly
Kothrud, 25th April 2026: Traffic was disrupted in Kothrud on Saturday morning after a large branch of a banyan tree fell onto parked vehicles, blocking the road near Bedekar Ganpati in Rambaug Colony on Paud Road.
The incident occurred around 8:40 am, when the heavy branch snapped and crashed onto four four-wheelers, completely obstructing vehicular movement in the area.
Fire brigade personnel from the Kothrud fire station rushed to the spot and carried out a swift clearance operation. Using chainsaws, axes, and ropes, the team cut and removed the fallen branches and shifted the damaged vehicles to the side.
The road was cleared within a short time, and traffic movement was restored to normal. No injuries were reported in the incident.
