Bappu Nayyar Arrested For Murder Of Shiv Sena leader Deepak Maratkar

Pune, November 3, 2020: In the murder case of Yuva Sena office-bearer Deepak Maratkar, notorious goon Kumar Prabhakar Nayyar also known as Bappu Nayyar, a resident of Indiranagar, was arrested by Pune city police from Yerwada jail. He was remanded in police custody for seven days.

A case has been registered at Faraskhana police station against Nayyar in connection with the murder of Maratkar. Ten people had earlier been arrested in connection with the crime. While investigating the case it was revealed that Nayyar was involved. It was also revealed that he had gone to Sassoon Hospital to meet the accused who killed Maratkar. According to the police, Swapnil Modhve, a member of the Nayyar gang, was first arrested by Unit One of the Crime Branch.

Nayyar is being prosecuted in a case filed at Kondhwa police station and was lodged in Yerawada Jail for the crime. However, he had come to Sassoon hospital two to three days before the murder of Maratkar as he was ill. The police investigation revealed that when he had come to Sassoon hospital he had met assailants. Six police personnel, who were escorting Nayyar, have been suspended by the Police Commissioner.
