Pune, December 13th: Bhaashaa Foundation, a city-based voluntary non-profit organization working for the preservation and enhancement of regional languages has organized the 4th edition of ‘Katha Yatra’ – a vibrant story festival of Maharashtra at Balgandharva Ranga Mandir between 16th and 18th December 2016. This year, the theme of Katha Yatra will be ‘Jal Katha’ and all the programs will be woven around Water.

Story is losing its rightful place in our fast-paced, technology-studded contemporary life. Grandmother Tales are also vanishing fast along with grandmothers moving away from modern nuclear families. To bring back the glory of stories, Bhaashaa has started this one of its kind event in 2011 and have been receiving overwhelming response from not only children but also from grown-ups.

The 4th edition of this festival will be based on the theme of ‘Water’ and will be packed with many programs for kids as well as elders. There will be two verticals in ‘Katha Yatra’ like every year. Various special events would take place at Balgandharva Ranga Mandir during these 3 days whereas a two-day International Conference on the topic of ‘Society, Literature and Multilingualism’ wherein various academicians and scholars from India and abroad would be participating. This conference will be held at MCCIA trade tower, located at Senapati Bapat Road, Pune on December 16th and 17th from9:00am to 5:00pm.”

Entry will be free for all the programs taking place under Katha Yatra. Pre-registration on first come first serve basis for all the workshops and competitions is mandatory.
