‘Bharat parv’ being organized at Red fort, Delhi from 26th to 29th january 2016 M/o tourism has been designated as nodal ministry for the event

Bharat Parv” event is being organized by the Government of India at the Red Fort, Delhi from 26th to 29th January 2016, as part of the Republic Day Celebrations. The prime objective of organizing the event is to generate a patriotic mood, promote the rich cultural diversity of the country and to ensure wider participation of the general public.

The Ministry of Tourism has been designated as the Nodal Ministry for the event, the highlights of which include a display of Republic Day Parade tableaux, performances by the Armed Forces Bands (static and moving), Food Festival, Crafts Mela and Cultural Performances from different regions of the country. The timings of the Event are from 5.00 PM to 9.00 PM on 26th January 2016 and from 12.00 Noon to 9.00 PM on the 27th, 28th& 29th January 2016.

The Event is open to the public and entry is free. However, identity proof is to be carried.

The Cultural Performances will include choreographed Folk / Tribal Dances and Music arranged by the Ministry of Culture through its Zonal Cultural Centres as well as performances by cultural troupes from the different States of the country. The Food Festival will have stalls set up by the National Association of Street Vendors of India (NASVI) showcasing street food from different States / UTs as well as by State Governments and the Institutes of Hotel Management. The Crafts Mela will showcase the handicrafts and handloomsof the country, arranged by the Ministry of Textiles through the Offices of the Development Commissioners of Handlooms and Handicrafts as well as State Governments.

The detailed schedule of events over the four day period is as follows :

27th January 2016: 1300-1345 hrs. – Military Band (Navy–Static); 1345-1410 hrs. – Mizoram (Bamboo Dance); 1410-1500 hrs.-Karnataka (Veeragase, Dollu Kunitha, Yakshagana, Pooja Kunitha); 1500-1545 hrs. – Military Band (Army-Static); 1545-1630 hrs. – Punjab (Bhangra, Giddha, Jhumar, Luddi); 1630-1715hrs. – Odisha (Gotipua Dance and Chhau Nritya); 1715-1800 hrs. – Pipes & Drums Band (Army Dynamic); 1800-2015 hrs. – NZCC Choreographed Folk / Tribal Dances & Music & 2015-2100 hrs. – Military Band (Air Force – Static)
