Bhartiya Railway Mazdoor Sangh protest against privatization and corporatization of government organisations

Pune, June 11, 2020: The Bhartiya Railway Mazdoor Sangh (BRMS) has protested at various regional Railway Headquarters, Divisions, production units, and maintenance depots against the announcement of the Government of India for implementation of anti-labour policy, privatization of multiple government organizations and Public sector units.

 

In a statement released, BMRS stated, “We are deeply distressed with such steps of the government and decided to organize the program all over India to waken the Government of India.”

 

According to the union, the merger of PSUs, Privatization of banks, enhancement of FDI in insurance, the participation of private firm in coal mining department, privatization of 6 airports of civil aviation department, a corporation of ordnance factory board (OFB), improvements from 49 percent to 74 percent FDI in armament product, and the listing of ordnance factory stock exchange along with corporatization of various workshops of Indian Railways has been distressful to the labour class.

 

“Priority of Government of India for disinvestment of Government PSUs and closing of Government organizations is indicating that Government of India is going forward for privatization and corporatization of various organizations in every area,” affirmed the statement. However, BMS/BRMS will be compelled to continue their protest if the government does not withdraw the anti-nation decision.
