Bhiwandi: 10 Persons Killed, 11 Rescued From Debris Of Building Which Collapsed Early Morning Today

Thane, September 21, 2020: A three-floored building collapsed in the Patel Compound area of ​​Bhiwandi at 3.40 am today. Around 10 people have died in this accident and many people are trapped in the rubble. According to the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team engaged in rescue work at the scene, 20 people trapped in the debris have been safely rescued while at least 20-25 people are still trapped inside.

This building known as Jilani Apartment was built in the year 1984, a part of the building suddenly collapsed. There are 21 flats in this collapsing part in which many people were sleeping. As the area collapsed at 3.40 am, there was chaos in the entire area, local people immediately gathered to help the people and the relief and rescue teams were also informed. Since then relief and rescue operations are going on continuously. The injured are being rushed to the hospital.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences to the bereaved families suffering from the collapse of the building in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra and prayed for the early recovery of the injured. PM Modi said that rescue operations are going on and all possible assistance is being provided to the affected.
