Bhosari Emerges as Pune District’s Largest Assembly Constituency After SIR, Chinchwad Slips to Second

Pune, 1st September 2026: Bhosari has emerged as the largest Assembly constituency in Pune district after the publication of the draft electoral rolls under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise, with 4,61,934 voters.

Bhosari has overtaken Chinchwad and Hadapsar, which had the highest voter counts last year. The draft roll shows 4,17,715 voters in Chinchwad and 3,53,101 in Hadapsar. Pimpri (SC) has 2,36,278 voters, while Shivajinagar has 1,63,261, the lowest among the major constituencies.

The total number of voters in Pune district has fallen sharply to 62,13,692 in the draft roll from 90,80,133 in the previous electoral roll. The draft includes 31,51,297 male voters, 30,62,012 female voters and 383 transgender voters. The number of polling stations has also declined from 8,417 to 8,424.

Deputy district election officer Meenal Kathaskar said the names of 17,83,000 voters from the previous roll were not found in the draft list. These voters can submit fresh applications to have their names included in the electoral roll.

Officials said 3,12,048 voters were confirmed dead and 5,91,038 had permanently migrated. Arround 17.83 lakh voters have not been accounted for in the SIR exercise.

The election authorities clarified that the draft figures are not final and could change after claims, objections and fresh applications are processed.

Bhosari has 4,61,934 voters across 388 polling stations. Among other constituencies, Khadakwasla has 3,19,263 voters, Vadgaon Sheri 3,14,940, Kothrud 2,41,194, Parvati 2,19,557, Pune Cantonment 1,79,609 and Kasba Peth 1,92,214.
