New Delhi, 9th December 2024: Following the BJP’s accusations that Congress leader Sonia Gandhi has ties to the George Soros Foundation, which allegedly supports anti-India activities, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju called for national unity against forces opposing the country.

Speaking on Monday, Rijiju remarked, “The current issue is George Soros. It doesn’t matter whether it involves Sonia Gandhi or Rahul Gandhi.” His statement came as Congress staged protests inside and outside Parliament, demanding a debate on the US indictment of businessman Gautam Adani.

Rijiju urged Congress leaders to unite against those harming India, adding that the matter of George Soros had already been raised in Parliament. He also called on Congress to speak out if their leaders were found to have ties with anti-India elements.

The Parliamentary Affairs Minister emphasized that the BJP viewed the issue of Soros not as a political matter, stating, “We want the House to function. This is not about Congress or Rahul Gandhi; we need to address any connections to anti-India forces seriously.”

The winter session of Parliament continued to be disrupted on Tuesday, with both Congress and its INDIA alliance partners pushing for a discussion on Gautam Adani, while the BJP demanded a debate on the alleged Soros-Congress link.

On Sunday, the BJP claimed that Sonia Gandhi had connections with an organization funded by the George Soros Foundation, which has allegedly supported separatist ideas about Kashmir. The party suggested that this association indicated foreign interference in India’s internal matters.

Additionally, the BJP accused Rahul Gandhi of using a press conference, broadcast by the George Soros-backed OCCRP, as a platform to criticize Adani. Meanwhile, Congress continues to allege a close relationship between Prime Minister Modi and Adani, claiming the latter has received improper government favors.
