Kolkata, 13 July 2020: Bharitya Janta Party (BJP) leader Debendra Nath Roy was found dead near his house in North Bengal’s Uttar Dinajpur district. He was the member of West Bengal assembly (MLA). His family and supporters suspect that it was a planned killing.

BJP president JP Nadda blamed the state government for the rise of “gunda raj” in West Bengal. He further questioned the law and order under Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Next year West Bengal will go for election where BJP is seen as the primary challenger.

BJP has demanded CBI inquiry into Roy’s unnatural death. His body was found in the balcony of a shop near his house at Bondol in Hemtabad in Uttar Dinajpur district, in the morning today. The body has been sent for autopsy and police is investigating the case.

Though no one is detained or arrested, the blame game between BJP-Trinmool Congress (TMC) has started.
