BJP Workers in Daund Protest Ajit Pawar’s Inclusion in Mahayuti, Demand His Removal
Daund, June 27, 2024: Following the Lok Sabha election results, internal discord has surfaced within the Mahayuti alliance. Ajit Pawar, a prominent leader of the NCP, is facing mounting criticism from BJP members, sparking a contentious reaction from his party, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). BJP leaders have taken a firm stance against Ajit Pawar, with statements such as, “If Ajit Dada remains in Mahayuti, we do not seek power in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.”
In a recent gathering of BJP activists in Daund, Pune, a palpable anti-Ajit Pawar sentiment was evident. BJP MLA Rahul Kul and other leaders were present as party workers expressed their dissatisfaction with Ajit Pawar.
The activists unanimously voiced their longstanding opposition to Ajit Dada of the NCP, holding him accountable for their current predicament. This sentiment has caused unease among activists, ranging from booth-level workers to taluka workers. They vehemently oppose Ajit Pawar’s inclusion in Mahayuti, asserting their unwillingness to share power if it means accommodating him. They recounted instances where Ajit Pawar allegedly used his authority as guardian minister to suppress BJP workers in previous terms.
“Under Ajit Pawar’s leadership, we have experienced injustice. As long as he remains our guardian minister, our fate remains in his hands. Therefore, we reject any power-sharing arrangement with him in the Legislative Assembly,” proclaimed aggrieved BJP workers in the presence of MLA Rahul Kul.
Reflecting on their grievances, the workers demanded Ajit Dada’s removal from Mahayuti, citing alleged injustices against prominent BJP figures like Subhash Deshmukh, Rahul Kul, and Yogesh Tilekar, whom they claim were denied ministerial positions. Their unified slogan reverberated throughout the meeting: “Remove Ajit Pawar from Mahayuti.”
