Pune, 25th February 2024: The Central Election Commission has allocated the symbol “Tutari” to the Nationalist Congress (NCP) Sharadchandra Pawar Party, and the unveiling ceremony took place at Raigad fort under the banner of NCP Sharad Chandra Pawar party. This marked Sharad Pawar’s visit to Raigad fort after almost 40 years. In response to this, both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) have offered ironic criticism of Sharad Pawar.

Devendra Fadnavis, speaking to the media in Pune, expressed his satisfaction that Sharad Pawar had finally visited Raigad after four decades, giving credit to Ajit Pawar for this occurrence. Fadnavis commented, “After 40 years, [Sharad Pawar] had to go to bow at the feet of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.”

Regarding the Tutari symbol, Fadnavis mentioned that he was pleased to see Sharad Pawar pay respects at Raigad due to Ajit Pawar. He added a touch of irony, stating that the future would reveal how the Tutari symbol would play out.

In recent days, Pune has witnessed the seizure of drugs worth thousands of crores. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, commended the Pune Police for their swift action in discovering the narcotics stash. Fadnavis noted that Pune Police’s success would bolster anti-drug operations not only in Pune but across the country. Further investigations into the seized narcotics will be conducted in collaboration with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).

Regarding seat allocation within the Mahayuti alliance, Fadnavis mentioned ongoing discussions and stated that decisions would be announced at the appropriate time. He emphasized that discussions about candidature, including names like Rahul Narvekar and Narayan Rane, are not meant for public discourse. Fadnavis indicated that the decision on seat allocation would be jointly announced by the three parties involved.
