Art in any form has always been the depiction of society and a catalyst for change. Movie is one such medium which is not merely for entertainment but also as a strong tool to imbibe transformation.

“Today is such an era where there are amazing characters built for women. Movies now not always require heroin but instead need an actress,” proudly said Dutta while describing the current situation of movies.

In the same context Director, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari stated that, “Nowadays films are not created around actor and known only by them. Thanks to Hollywood, the trend is setting in India that now movies are indentified by the Director’s name.”

Even Pink fame Kulhari shared the same opinion in this context and said, “With the film Pink we actually understood the power of writing and story telling.”

When asked about the voices of women in movies all the leading ladies unanimously said that one needs to be strong, relevant and honest enough while speaking and its only then one can be heard.

Also, when asked the success determining factor of the movie, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari said while making a clear point that “The success of films don’t depend on the film entering the 100 crore club. But rather depends on whether it was well appreciated by the audience and gained good profits against investment.”

A commonly known fact is that the women in the cinema have to compete against the male counterparts in every aspect of industry. “To survive in the business against the ‘Big Boys Club’ you need to be thick hide, be able to laugh at yourself and be able to make decent profits,” declared Bhatt.
