Bomb Threat at Dr. D. Y. Patil Hospital in Pimpri Chinchwad Turns Out to Be a Hoax

Pimpri Chinchwad, 6th November 2024: Several hospitals and airports across Maharashtra have received bomb threats in recent days. Today, a similar threat was received at Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre in Pimpri Chinchwad, creating chaos for the police. The threat was sent via email to the dean of the college, who immediately contacted the authorities. However, after a thorough investigation, no bomb was found.

According to available information, the dean received an email stating that a bag had been placed at the hospital. Upon receiving the threat, the police quickly alerted the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS). Police teams, along with a dog squad, were dispatched to the site, and the Bomb Squad began its investigation. The email was received around 11:30 AM, and the search operation began immediately. All areas of the hospital, including crowded places such as the canteen and parking lots, were thoroughly checked. The police investigation is ongoing.

Senior Police Inspector Gorakh Kumbhar, in charge of the Sant Tukaram Nagar Police Station, informed Punekar News, “We received the call earlier today. We and the BDDS conducted the investigation, but nothing was found. It was a hoax. An investigation is underway to determine who sent the email, and the process of registering a case is also ongoing. The search operation for the non-existent bomb was carried out calmly.”
