Pune 5th July 2023: The Bombay High Court has ordered the Pune court to decide the application of city lawyer who has demanded re-investigation in the Faraskhana Bomb Blast Case. The High Court in its order passed on July 3 has directed the special judge to decide the said application at the earliest and as far as possible within a period of two months.

The order comes after the matter has been pending at the Pune court since the application was submitted before the court in 2017. The court in its order also stated that the application has been pending for inordinately long time. The High Court further also stated that the maintainability of the application and locus of the petitioner are left open to be decided by the concerned court.

It may be noted that a Pune based lawyer Advocate Tosif Shaikh had filed an application before the Pune court seeking re-investigation on several factors in the Faraskhana Bomb Blast Case in November 2017. He further claimed that the investigation conducted by the Anti-Terrorist Squad in the case had some loopholes and it needed a detailed investigation.

However, since the application was filed in 2017 and there has been no decision on it he approached the Bombay High Court seeking direction to decide on the matter.
