Booking rail tickets online set to become costlier from today

1 Sep 2019, Pune : Train ticket booking through Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) will attract service charge (service charge) from September.
Non-Air conditioned tickets will be charged Rs 15 and Air condition class will be charged Rs 30. GST will be applicable separately. IRCTC informed on Friday.
Earlier, there was a charge of Rs 20 and Rs 40.
The government abolished service charges on train ticket booking through IRCTC 3 years ago. This was done to promote digital payments. At that time, non-AC tickets were charged at Rs 20 and AC was charged at Rs 40.
Passengers have to pay service tax for None Ac and AC class Rs 15 and Rs 30 respectively booking through IRCTC website. GST will be applicable separately.
