Khadakwasla, 17th June 2025: The iconic National Defence Academy (NDA) in Pune has become the backdrop for one of the most anticipated Hindi war films in recent memory — Border 2. Nearly three decades after the original Border stirred patriotic emotions across India, the sequel has officially entered its third schedule at NDA, bringing with it a new generation of stars and a renewed spirit of valour.

Veteran actor Sunny Deol, who reprises his role in the sequel to J.P. Dutta’s 1997 blockbuster, took to social media to announce the latest phase of production. “When all ‘Forces’ come together! #BORDER2 🇮🇳,” Deol posted, unveiling a powerful poster that features him alongside the new recruits — Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty.

The announcement has sparked excitement among fans and cinema enthusiasts, especially with the news that real military institutions like NDA Pune are serving as authentic locations to capture the grit and glory of the Indian Armed Forces.

The film is being directed by Anurag Singh, known for his gripping storytelling in films like Kesari. On ground at NDA, Singh is joined by producers Bhushan Kumar and Nidhi Dutta (daughter of original Border director J.P. Dutta), along with co-producers Shiv Chanana and Binoy Gandhi.

According to the production team, Border 2 is envisioned as a tribute to the courage of Indian soldiers, echoing the legacy of its predecessor while introducing modern conflicts and a younger battalion. The film aims to blend high-octane action with emotional depth — a hallmark of the original.

Border 2 is scheduled for a grand theatrical release on January 23, 2026, strategically timed just ahead of Republic Day to evoke national pride.
