Border Roads Organisation Holds Annual Conference In Pune To Discuss Use Of New Technology And Environment-Friendly Construction

Pune, 6th May 2023: The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) is organisig its Annual Chief Engineers and Equipment Management Conference in Pune, Maharashtra. The conference is attended by the Chief Engineers of 18 BRO Projects from border states and Union Territories, along with senior officers from Seema Sadak Bhawan, New Delhi.

Lt Gen Rajeev Chaudhry, VSM, DGBR presided over the conference, which focused on key issues such as the use of new technology, the incorporation of environment-friendly means of construction, road safety aspects, and other HR initiatives, including efforts to upgrade facilities for labourers.

The event provided a platform for knowledge sharing, enabling BRO to prepare a roadmap for the next working season. It also allowed for the sharing of good practices and capacity building. As part of the equipment management, BRO provided a platform for major firms to showcase their equipment. A total of 79 equipment stalls were on display at the BRO School and Centre, Pune.

Speaking at the conference, DGBR praised the Chief Engineers’ projects for their commendable work and exhorted them to work with the same tenacity. He also thanked the major equipment firms for displaying their state-of-the-art equipment and urged them to provide BRO with tailor-made solutions for their engineering problems. As BRO works in difficult terrain and altitude, the challenges for the organisation are more complex than other construction agencies. Thus, the big players can come forward and join in nation-building.

The conference highlighted the BRO’s commitment to incorporating the latest technologies and environmentally friendly practices into its projects. With India’s borders located in remote and difficult terrains, BRO’s work is of utmost importance for the security and development of the country. Therefore, the use of the latest technology and environmentally friendly practices can not only help to make their work more efficient but also have a positive impact on the environment.
