BSF Jawan Arrested For Allegedly Molesting Woman Near Pune Airport
Viman Nagar, 4th July 2023: A Jawan of the Border Security Force (BSF) has been arrested by Pune police on charges of molesting a young woman (air hostess) in the vicinity of Pune airport.
The accused, identified as Ganesh Ashok Salunkhe (32), hailing from Ambavade in Koregaon taluka of Satara district, has been taken into custody following a complaint filed by the victim at the airport (Vimantal) police station.
According to the complainant, she was waiting for a ride from a mobile app-based transportation service in the airport area when Salunkhe approached her. He requested to borrow her mobile phone to make a call. However, instead of innocently seeking assistance, Salunkhe took advantage of the situation and allegedly sexually assaulted the young woman.
Horrified by the incident, the victim raised an alarm, attracting the attention of nearby security personnel who promptly detained Salunkhe at the airport. A case has been registered against Salunkhe on charges of molestation, and the investigation is being carried out by a Sub-Inspector of Police.
