Pune, 3rd January 2024: The Regional Transport Office (RTO) has officially implemented revised fare rates for black and yellow taxis as well as air-conditioned taxis (Coolcabs) in Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, and Baramati areas under the Pune Regional Transport Authority, effective January 1.
The decision to revise the fare rates comes in line with the recommendations of the Khatua Committee and aligns with the provisions of a government decision. The decision to update the fare structure was made during a meeting held on December 22, 2023, chaired by the Collector.
For black and yellow taxis, the revised rates stand at Rs 31 for the first 1.5 km, with an additional Rs 21 for every subsequent kilometer. In the case of air-conditioned taxis (Coolcabs), the initial 1.5 km will cost Rs 37, followed by Rs 25 for each kilometer thereafter.
Sanjeev Bhor, the Pune RTO in charge, confirmed the implementation of the revised fares, emphasizing that the fare for air-conditioned taxis (Coolcabs) has been fixed at Rs 25.
This fare revision aims to ensure a fair and standardized pricing structure for taxi services in the Pune Regional Transport Area. The move has been made with the objective of providing clarity and transparency in taxi fares, benefiting both commuters and taxi operators alike.
