Mumbai, 2nd July 2023: Following his appointment as the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Ajit Pawar, a prominent leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), expressed his commitment to expanding the cabinet and accommodating more leaders in key positions. In a press conference held in Mumbai, Pawar addressed various topics, including the focus on development and the political landscape in the state.

Speaking about the discussions surrounding development, Pawar highlighted the importance of considering both the state and central situation. He acknowledged the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and applauded the steps taken by the central government to propel the nation forward. Pawar also noted that while opposition parties were attempting to come together, the differing circumstances in each state often hindered fruitful outcomes during opposition party meetings.

In regards to his resignation as the Leader of the Opposition (LOP), Pawar clarified that he expressed his views during the foundation day program. He emphasized that he and his colleagues have always worked under the leadership of Sharad Pawar, a respected political figure. Looking ahead, Pawar expressed a strong inclination to provide opportunities to youth leaders, aiming to invigorate the political landscape with fresh perspectives.

Pawar reiterated that their primary focus would be the development of the state of Maharashtra and finding ways to secure central funds for its progress. When asked about potential political alliances, he stated that if they could align with the Shiv Sena, they could also explore collaborations with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Pawar acknowledged the absence of some leaders at the press conference, noting that some were unable to attend while others were currently out of the country. However, he reassured that they had communicated with these leaders, and they were in agreement with the decisions made.

Pawar’s statements have sparked intrigue and speculation within political circles, with many eagerly anticipating the forthcoming cabinet expansion and the potential implications it may have on the political landscape of Maharashtra. As the NCP leader assumes his role as Deputy Chief Minister, the focus remains on how this development will impact the state’s governance and future policies.
