New Delhi, January 3, 2021: The Drug Controller General Of India (DCGI) on Sunday permitted emergency use of corona vaccines- Covishield and Covaxin in India. Meanwhile, rumours are also prevailing regarding these vaccines. One of the prominent talks is that it makes people impotent. However, VG Somani, DCGI, has dismissed the rumours.

Somani stated that vaccines would have never been permitted if they were not safe for the people. The rumours that it makes people impotent are rubbish. Mild fever, pain, and allergy are some common side effects of the vaccines.

The vaccines will be stored at 2-8 degrees, and two doses of both vaccines will be given as injections. Currently, six Corona vaccines are under clinical trial in India, including Covishield and Covaxin. Covishield is developed by Oxford University-AstraZeneca and the Serum Institute of India, Pune. Covaxine is an indigenous vaccine developed by Bharat Biotech.
