Capgemini reaches out to Pune city to help fight COVID19

Pune, May 19, 2020 – Capgemini today affirmed its commitment to the fight against COVID-19, by detailing a series of initiatives being undertaken in the city of Pune. Capgemini colleagues have rapidly mobilized the supply of essential medical equipment and necessities to address the needs of local authorities and provide a helping hand to affected communities in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad area.

As the state is faced with unprecedented impact of COVID-19, Capgemini stands with communities in Pune to help limit the impact of the pandemic. As part of our relief measures in Pune, Capgemini is extending support by providing safety equipment and materials to Pune District Collector, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), Police Commissioner of Pune & Pimpri Chinchwad, SDO – Mulshi Paud , Police Stations at Hinjewadi & Dehu Road and to affected families through our NGO partners Akshay Patra and SSRVM Trust.

In Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad area Capgemini has provided essential medical supplies to government hospital in order to contain the spread of COVID-19. These include PPE Kits, Thermometers, Face Shields, Hand Sanitizers and more such equipment.

Additionally, Capgemini is providing support to affected families from underprivileged community and daily wage earners along with our NGO partners. In association with Akshay Patra Foundation, Capgemini has provided cooked meal twice a day to 26000 individuals. Furthermore, in association with SSRVM Trust, Capgemini has provided dry ration to 7684 individuals, cooked meals to 40,000 individuals and dry ration to PCMC (1400 individuals), police stations and Pune administration.

Apart from the relief measures in Pune, Capgemini has been engaging with communities and NGO partners across India to ease the impact of COVID-19. We have provided essential services to nearly 800,000 individuals of underprivileged community across 15 locations in India. Capgemini has always been committed to the communities we live in.
