Car Catches Fire on Pune-Nagar Highway in Wagholi; No Injuries Reported

Wagholi, 14th May 2025: Panic gripped motorists on Pune-Nagar Highway near Wagholi on Tuesday night after a car suddenly caught fire in front of Chulbul Dhaba. The incident occurred around 9:15 PM, but swift action by the PMRDA fire brigade prevented a major mishap.

According to officials, the fire started in the front portion of the vehicle. Fortunately, the driver and another occupant noticed the flames in time and quickly exited the car before the fire intensified.

The PMRDA fire brigade unit in Wagholi, led by fire officers Altaf Patel, Prashant Adsul, Laxman Misal, and Mahesh Patil, responded promptly to the emergency and managed to douse the fire before it could spread further. Only the front section of the car was damaged in the blaze.

No injuries were reported, and the situation was brought under control within minutes of the alert.
The exact cause of the fire remains unknown, but officials suspect a technical malfunction in the engine area.
