Caught on Camera: PMPML Bus Driver Talks on Mobile While Driving In Pune

Pune, 19th December 2023: A disturbing video has surfaced depicting a Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) bus driver engaging in risky behavior by speaking on a mobile phone while driving, neglecting passengers’ safety. The footage, now viral on social media, has sparked widespread concern and demands for immediate action against the driver.

 

The incident took place on bus MH 12, 3810, route number 161, as confirmed by Navnath Bhujbal, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) youth wing’s executive committee in Shikrapur. Bhujbal was aboard the bus and witnessed the driver repeatedly removing his hands from the steering wheel, spitting, and conversing on the phone for about seven minutes.

 

Navnath Bhujbal also captured visual evidence of the concerning incident, emphasizing the potential risk posed not only to the lives of passengers but also to pedestrians and other vehicles due to the driver’s distracted behavior.

 

Expressing apprehension regarding the safety of passengers and the gravity of the situation, Bhujbal urged swift action against the bus driver, given the seriousness of the offense. He highlighted the need for awareness campaigns among drivers to prevent such incidents and safeguard public safety.

The alarming video has garnered significant traction on social media platforms, leading to widespread outrage among commuters and residents. Passengers have expressed their dismay and concern over the driver’s reckless behavior, raising questions about the safety protocols and adherence to regulations within the PMPML.
