CBI ARRESTS A CHIEF STAFF & WELFARE INSPECTOR OF RAILWAYS FOR ACCEPTING BRIBE OF Rs. 25,000/-
The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Chief Staff & Welfare Inspector, East Central Railway, Dhanbad (Jharkhand) for demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs. 25,000/- from complainant
The complainant had alleged in the complaint that she was to be selected for appointment as a Clerk at ECR, Dhanbad oncompassionate grounds due to demise of her husband in September, 2015. For processing her matter and related medical tests etc., the Chief Staff & Welfare Inspector posted at the office of Senior DPO, ECR, Dhanbad, had allegedlydemanded bribe of Rs. 50,000/-. A case was registered. CBI laid a trap and the accused was caught red-handed while demanding & accepting bribe of Rs. 25,000/- as part payment from the complainant. Searches have been conducted atthe office/residence of the accused.
The arrested accused will be produced tomorrow before the Designated Court at Dhanbad.
