CBI chargesheets Chhota Rajan in journalist J Dey murder case

Mumbai – The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has today filed chargesheet against two private persons including an accused who was deported to India on 06.11.2015 from Indonesia & his accomplice both residents of Mumbai U/s 302, 34, 120-B, 201 of IPC; Section 3, 25, 27 of Arms Act; 37 (1) (a), 135 of Bombay Police Act; Section 3 (1) (i), 3 (2), 3 (4) of MCOC Act 1999, in the Court of Special Judge, MCOC Act Cases, Mumbai (Maharashtra).

The said case was registered by CBI on 05.01.2016 U/s 302/34 of IPC r/w 3, 25, 27 of Arms Act relating to alleged murder of Sh. Jyoti Nipendrakumar Dey, then Journalist of Mumbai, on the request of Maharashtra Government and further Notification from Government of India. CBI took up the investigation of the case which was earlier registered by Maharashtra Police at Police Station – Powai, District Mumbai. The Maharashtra Police has earlier filed chargesheet against 11 accused persons in the designated court at Mumbai.

After thorough investigation, CBI unearthed the conspiracy of killing Sh. J. Dey. The advanced & scientific techniques were adopted and Voice Sample of accused was also taken. Sufficient evidence has also emerged to establish that Global Roaming SIM Cards were arranged by the accomplice of accused to the members of Organised Crime Syndicates.

The Public is reminded that the above findings are based on the investigation done by CBI and evidence collected by it. Under the Indian law, the accused are presumed to be innocent till their guilt is finally established after a fair trial.
