New Delhi, 13th October 2023: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially released the schedule for the practical examinations for classes X and XII, with a specific focus on winter bound schools. In an official notification posted on the board’s website, cbse.gov.in, the CBSE has detailed the practical examination dates for these classes, which will be held during the winter session. It is important to note that these dates are exclusive to winter-bound schools, and the schedule for other schools will be announced separately.

For students enrolled in winter schools, the practical examinations and internal assessments for classes X and XII are set to commence on November 14, 2023, and will continue until 14 December 2023. The CBSE has emphasized that these dates pertain only to winter schools, and students are encouraged to stay updated by visiting the official CBSE portal.

One crucial aspect highlighted in the official notice is that the marks obtained in all practical examinations must be promptly uploaded by the respective schools. This upload of marks is required to be completed by the final day of the practical examination period. The CBSE has made it clear that there will be no extension granted for uploading the marks beyond this date.

For class 10 practical examinations, the CBSE will not appoint external examiners. Schools are expected to manage the practical examination arrangements themselves. No practical answer sheets will be provided by the board, placing the onus on the schools to ensure a smooth and fair evaluation process.

In contrast, for class 12 practical examinations, the CBSE will appoint external examiners in each school to conduct the exams. This move aims to maintain the quality and fairness of the evaluation process for class 12 students.

Additionally, the CBSE has recently disclosed that the answer sheets for the upcoming 12th Commerce examination will follow the same format as answer sheets for other subjects. This standardization ensures consistency in the evaluation process across various subjects.

Winter bound schools and their students are advised to review the official notification on the CBSE website for any further details and specific guidelines related to these practical examinations. The CBSE is committed to ensuring a fair and transparent examination process for all students and schools under its purview. For regular schools, the board will announce the practical examination dates separately in due course.

As the CBSE continues to navigate the challenges posed by the ongoing pandemic, it remains dedicated to upholding educational standards and ensuring the well-being of students and school staff. Stay tuned for further updates regarding the practical examinations for regular schools.
