Celebrate Ganesh Festival With Simplicity, Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta Appeals Puneites

Pune, 12th August 2021: As the threat of the Coronavirus pandemic is continuing, this year also there will be restrictions on the celebration of the Ganesh festival in Pune. We appeal to people to celebrate the festival with simplicity, said Commissioner of Police Amitabh Gupta.

A meeting was held between representatives of Ganesh Mandals and Police Commissioner Gupta at the Commissionerate on Wednesday.

Joint Police commissioner Dr Ravindra Shisve, Additional Police Commissioners Dr Sanjay Shinde, Namdev Chavhan, Ashok Morale, DCP (Special Branch) Mitesh Ghatte, DCP (Zone 1) Priyanka Narnaware, representatives of five prominent Ganesh Mandals including Prasad Kulkarni, Prashant Tikar, Hardik Pardeshi, Mayur Pardeshi, Nitin Pandit, Vikas Pawar, Anil Sakpal, Sanjeev Jawle and Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Sarwajanik Ganeshotsav Trust’s Office bearers Sunil Rasane, Mahesh Suryavanshi, Akhil Mandai Mandal Trust President Anna Thorat, Sanjay Mate, Mahesh Dave were present at the meeting.

Gupta appealed to the representatives that this year too, the Ganesh Mandals should follow the rules to prevent coronavirus infection.  To prevent crowds, an online darshan system should be developed and for the immersion of idols, the guidelines issued by the state government should be followed.
